Post Old School and prior to re-joining TBWA, I freelanced at a variety of agencies in Europe including BETC (London), McCann, Leo Burnett, Ogilvy and Publicis (Paris). International clients include Nespresso, Kellogg’s, Nestlé, Ford, Flying Blue and Rimmel London (on which I was a member of the pitch-winning team).

An international Creative Consultancy set up to work directly with clients on brand strategy, creative ideas and digital content. Clients Include:

BMW Motorcycles (Munich) - Brand strategy and repositioning. Creating a new brand ‘look & feel’. Creating digital content for specific product launches.

L’Oreal Paris (Paris) - Digital content strategy and content film for the launch of L’Oreal’s Butterfly Mascara.

Philips (Amsterdam) - Digital strategy and content for Philips Diamond Black toothbrushes.

Western Union (Paris) - Activation ideas for WU’s sponsorship of the UEFA Europa League. European press and poster campaign.

Infiniti, Nissan’s premium luxury mark, is established in the USA, but had zero recognition in Europe. Going head-to-head with Mercedes and BMW, we first had to define the brand, then establish a credible strategy, and finally create and execute a fully integrated 360 campaign.

Infiniti’s global sponsorship of the Red Bull Racing F1 team allowed me the opportunity to oversee creative teams across the TBWA global network, and manage a relationship with clients based in America, Japan and Europe.

Created integrated Pan-European and global campaigns across Nissan’s range of cars. Product launches, motor show films, guerrilla campaigns and online activation. Worked across the TBWA network on international SWATs.

At Y&R’s digital agency, Saint, I was on the pitch-winning team tasked to launch the computer game, Prince of Persia. Worked across the client-list creating digital outdoor, websites, digital display, data visualisation and live activations.

Developed campaigns for clients such as Sharpie Markers, Virgin and the BBC.

In-house creative agency for Channel Four, the UK’s most creative and irreverent TV channel. Developed campaigns for programs and services.

ALBION / LONDON                                                                                          

Gained valuable non-advertising experience at this Wieden + Kennedy spinoff agency. Worked on “Internet start-up” clients and (then) revolutionary ideas such as car sharing.

TRIBAL DDB / LONDON                                                                                  

Worked on the digital part of the VW account creating display advertising and digital activations.


M&C SAATCHI / LONDON   Sep 2001 – Nov 2005                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             CREATIVE

Created campaigns across an extensive client list. Highlights include a print campaign for Krug Champaign, pitch-winning work for The Mirror Newspaper – a provocative campaign against the war in Iraq, and working on British Airways Premium Holidays and Club World.

I can draw, so I started my career out as an art director. It was the days before Macs and I learned a lot about the craft of advertising but came to realise I preferred writing the words rather than making them look beautiful.
